No Third-Party Tracking
This site does not use any third-party analytics, tracking scripts, or external font services. All resources are served from our own domain. No data is shared with Google, Facebook, or any other third party.
Page View Counting
We count page views using a simple server-side counter. This does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not collect any personal information. Only an anonymous count per pattern is stored.
Hearts / Favorites
When you click the heart button on a pattern, our server sets
a small cookie (bos-vid) containing a random anonymous identifier. This cookie is only
set when you actively click the heart button — it is not set
on regular page visits.
The cookie is used solely to prevent duplicate votes and does not contain any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or IP address.
Local Storage
Your browser stores two preferences locally (not sent to our server):
- Theme preference (light/dark mode)
- Cached list of patterns you have hearted (for instant UI feedback)
Data Storage
We store the following data in a cloud database:
- Anonymous heart counters per pattern (public vote counts)
- Anonymous identifier associations (to prevent duplicate votes)
- Anonymous page view counters per pattern
We do not store IP addresses, browser user agents, or any other metadata that could be used to identify individual visitors.
Your Rights
Under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), you have the right to:
- Request deletion of your anonymous identifier
- Access information about stored data associated with your identifier
- Object to the processing of your data
To exercise these rights, please contact us with your anonymous
identifier (stored in your browser's cookies under the name bos-vid).
