Hex Strands

A hexagon grid flows along a noise field: cells balloon in some places and crowd together in others, but never fold over one another. Some cells carry a bundle of parallel lines from one edge to another, bending or running straight across, and the next cell may pick it up at the same edge, so the lines wander through the grid until a cell wall stops them. After the cellular grid of markknol's Waved Grid on Turtletoy (2020).
